Thermohydraulic performance of thermal system integrated with twisted turbulator inserts using ternary hybrid nanofluids

Abstract Mono, hybrid, and ternary nanofluids were tested inside the plain twisted-tape pipes using k-omega shear stress transport turbulence models. The Reynolds number was 5,000 ≤ Re 15,000, thermophysical properties calculated under condition of 303 K. Single (Al 2 O 3 /distilled water [DW], SiO /DW, ZnO/DW), hybrid (SiO + Al ZnO/DW, ZnO /DW) in mixture ratio 80:20, ZnO/DW) 60:20:20 estimated different volumetric concentrations (1, 2, 3, 4%). twisted pipe had a higher outlet temperature than pipe, while /DW lower T out value with 310.933 K (plain pipe) 313.842 (twisted at = 9,000. thermal system gained better energy ZnO/DW 6178.060 W 8426.474 pipe).
